Schweitzer’s leadership helped Native Americans
Gov. Brian Schweitzer has nearly come full term. As an American Indian, a voter, a 2011 candidate for House District 80, I wanted to publicly thank the governor for his work in Montana’s Indian Country. In our Montana history, no other governor has had more interaction with tribes. As a result, more Natives are involved in public office than ever before. More Natives are employed at higher state positions or held critical roles in the shaping of Montana’s policies. Do not think this is a thumbs up to Democrats. It’s a thumb up to good leadership.
