2011 First Chickasaw Baby Born at Chickasaw Nation Medical Center

The new Chickasaw Nation Medical Center delivered its first baby in 2011 -- Brailee Jean Miller, daughter of Ada, Okla., residents Brandon and Betty Miller, according to a Chickasaw Nation media release.

The Chickasaw girl was born 7 pounds, 2.2 ouces, 18.5 inches long, at 12:16 a.m. on Jan. 1. Her mother said she was “very thankful” to the Medical Center staff for their attentive care, stated the media release. “The staff was awesome,” the 27-year-old said. “It’s nice to know that there are people who care about other people.”

The $145 million, 370,000-square foot, 72-bed Chickasaw Nation Medical Center, which opened in August 2010, reaches more people and offers new, state-of-the-art services, said Governor of the Chickasaw Nation, Bill Anoatubby, to the Ada Evening News.
