Native Threads Partners with Tohono O'odham Nation
Native Threads and the Tohono O'odham Economic Development Authority (E.D.A.), the economic arm of the Tohono O'odham Nation, announced their new partnership Native Threads L.L.C. on April 27. The goal is to expand the brand into a world-wide, mainstream apparel line, stated a Native Threads press release.
Native Threads said joining forces will increase their marketing presence and provide the sales and operations teams with human resources and other benefits. It will also provide the apparel company, which "celebrates and preserves native cultures," with the financial means to target a more mainstream audience and appeal to buyers like Macy's and Pac-Sun. "Our culture lends itself to inspired apparel ideas that are embraced worldwide and with our new partner we have the financial wherewithal to capitalize on the larger mainstream clothing market that was previously out of reach," says Native Threads President, Randy Bardwell (Luise?o - Pechanga), in the release.
Travis P. Nabahe, CEO of the Tohono O’odham Nation E.D.A., said the partnership will serve as the catalyst for the brand to reach new levels in the domestic and international marketplace. “As we invest in the people, we invest in the future. And with Randy’s vision and unwavering dedication to make Native Thread’s a world-wide brand, we expect that future to be very bright."
