Oneida Nation Police Hosts Training Sessions

The clicking of shutters often accompanies these real life CSI crews. As the Oneida Nation Police Department recently hosted two-days of training in cooperation with the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center’s (FLETC) Rural Policing Institute.

The training was targeted toward Criminal Investigations and Digital Photography for Law Enforcement Officers to representatives from Harvard and Mansfield Universities and communities across New York state.

“We’re excited about hosting these classes,” said Captain Joseph Smith, Oneida Nation Police Department. “This is a great opportunity for small municipal police departments that have little or no training budgets to learn from experts. The photography course is especially popular as the participants receive a state-of-the-art digital camera to take back to their respective police departments.”
