The Iroquois Nationals have just bested Team USA in the Indoor Lacrosse World Cup Championships in the third round of the playoffs in a thrilling 11-10 match.  The Nationals are now the only unbeaten team left in the tournament, sitting atop their grouping at 3-0.  Team USA is 2-1, with the Czech Republic and Ireland both at the bottom of the grouping at 0-2.

The Nationals are now one game away from the championship match.  The semifinals take place this Friday, May 27, with the championship match slated for Saturday.

The Nationals went down early to Team USA, with Powell Casey scoring a lightning fast goal 33 seconds into the game, then adding a second 5:28 into the game. The Nationals answered half a minute later with a goal by Jamieson Cody, and then again at the 9:29 mark when Shattler Jeff put one in.

Eventually Team USA went up 8-6 at the nearly 40-minute mark of the game when the Nationals went on a scoring tear.  Hill Dean made it a one goal game, then Bomberry Cory scored twice, followed again by Jamieson Cody (Cody had four goals in the match).  Vyse Roger made it 11-9 when he scored for the Nationals at the 56:26 mark.  Twenty seconds later, Westervelt Drew scored for Team USA.  At 11-10 in this incredible, back-and-forth match, the Nationals held off Team USA to win the battle of the unbeatens.
