WinnaVegas Casino to Ferry Customers in Duck Boats
The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska’s WinnaVegas Casino Resort in Sloan, Iowa closed June 10 due to rising waters from the Missouri River that shut down the county road.
Now the tribe plans to reopen its casino on July 27 by purchasing three duck boats to ferry people to and from the gaming house across the two-feet-deep waters. Rides will cost $10; then patrons will receive a $10 coupon to play the games, reported the Sioux City Journal.
"I think the novelty of it will attract some people and as I said, if it's a big attraction we're going to keep them, we may even get a few more," Chairman John Blackhawk told KCAU-TV.
