World Champion Hoop Dancer Tony Duncan Performing in Mesa, Arizona
2011 World Champion hoop dancer Tony Duncan, a Mesa resident, will be performing at two libraries today in his town, creating butterflies, eagles and rattlesnakes out of the moving hoops he commands with such incredible precision.
The East Valley Tribune's Mandy Zajac reported that Duncan, Apache and Arikara/Hidatsa, will not only showcase his incredible hoop dancing talents, but will also share American Indian songs and stories. The multi-talented Duncan is also a Canyon Records recording artist and flutist for the group Estun-Bah.
Duncan's hoop dancing pedigree is astounding—a four time World Champion Teen Hoop dancer, ranked among the top ten hoop dancers in the world, and now, the world hoop dancing champion in the adult division. He's performed all over the globe, throughout America, Europe and Asia, and has wowed dignitaries and leaders, such as first lady Michelle Obama at a recent in event in Washington, D.C.
