The people of Bougainville in Papua New Guinea have been fighting in what has become known as the first eco-revolution in the world. When the Great Britain mining company, Rio Tinto Zinc (RTZ) started mining the area near Bougainville the people mobilized.

The Bougainville Revolutionary Army (BRA) fought the Papua New Guinea Army (PNGDF) which was mobilized in an attempt to stop the rebellion.  The BRA started fighting with bows and arrows before making its own weapons and now fights with high power weaponry that they have acquired in the fight.

This video uploaded by Qaiys shares the story of the Bougainvillians and its eco-revolution.
