Earl Salazar Named Tribal Relations Liaison for Los Alamos National Laboratory
In an announcement August 24, the Los Alamos National Laboratory named Earl Salazar it’s tribal liaison in the Government Affairs Office in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Salazar who was a budget analyst for Los Alamos’ Chief Financial Officer Division began in his new role August 22.
The position vacated by Elmer Torres upon retirement from 41 years of service, helps coordinate government-to-government relations when it comes to national security.
“Earl brings to his new position broad and deep tribal government experience with the Native American community of New Mexico and significant business and finance expertise from more than two decades working in the office of the LANL Chief Financial Officer,” said Government Affairs Office Director Patrick Woehrle.
Salazar was the governor of Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo (formerly San Juan Pueblo) during 2007-8 according to a press release distributed by the laboratory.
