This tipi-inspired solar house built by University of Calgary students earned 10th place overall in the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon.

The University of Calgary's entry into the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon came in 10th of 20 in the competition, whose winners were announced on Saturday October 1. High scores came in the areas of Hot Water efficiency, with a score of 99.5 (below seven teams that tied at 100), and fourth in Home Entertainment, with a score of 97.6 (two other teams tied in third place). The University of Maryland won first place.
