Sen. Murkowski Asks Questions About Shell Permit Standings
At a Senate Energy and Natural Resources hearing held today, Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) pressed Director Michael Bromwich, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement of Department of the Interior with questions about the status of Shell’s permits for the proposed Chukchi exploration plan.
“Where are we in terms of moving this along, what can we anticipate, will Shell be able to proceed in time for the 2012 exploration season?” are the questions that Murkowski asked in starting the dialogue.
