What are your weekend plans?
Here at Indian Country Today Media Network, we like a little pow wow action in our weekends. We’ve put together a little list of some pow wows that are taking place this weekend all around the country. So if you’ve got some time on your hands for tasty food, lively music, vibrant dances and stunning art, these are the events for you.
Christmas Pow Wow, California
When & Where: December 17th at the John Marshall Middle School in Long Beach, California.
Presented by the Long Beach Area Council and Boy Scouts of America, Saturday's festivities will begin at 6:45pm. The night will be filled with auctions, a bake sale, and traditional powwow dances. Spectators are asked to donate baked goods for the bake sale. For more information about this event, click here.
2nd Annual Heritage of Healing Pow Wow, Missouri
When & Where: December 18th at Weber's Inn in Ann Arbor, Missouri.
This year's pow wow is dedicated to benefit the Heritage of Healing Relief Project for Native Americans youth in families experiencing cancer, according to their website. Powwow attendees are asked to make a Visa gift card donation for these families. This is an all day event. For more information about this event, click here.

Children InterTribal Powwow, Oregon
When & Where: December 19th in the Confederated Tribes of Grande Ronde's Tribal Gym in Grande Ronde, Oregon.
Beginning at 5pm Monday, the Confederated Tribes of Grande Ronde would like to invite everyone to a "night of singing, drumming and dancing. Invited drum is the West Coast Boyz and Leland Butler (Grand Ronde) and San Poil Whitehead will be the masters of ceremony. Arena director will be Washie Squetimkin (Colville)."
