Looking for a great powwow to attend this Cinco de Mayo weekend? You've come to the right place because we've put together a list pow wows happening all over the nation this weekend!

If one of these events are located near you, we suggest you head on over and enjoy some thrilling dances, lively musical performances, and, of course, delicious traditional foods!

6th Annual AIHREA “Our Nations Energies” Health and Wellness Pow wow, Kansas

When & Where: May 4th - 5th at the Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas

This weekend event will kick off at 5pm on Friday with the competitions starting the following day at noon. Dance categories will include Women's Jingle, Men's Fancy, and Tiny Tots! AIHREA will also be offering free health screenings which will include cholesterol, diabetes, blood pressure, vision, lung health, and more. For more information about this event, click here.

University of Manitoba 23rd Annual Traditional Graduation Powwow, Canada

When & Where: May 5th in the Investors Group Athletic Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba

Honoring the University of Manitoba's graduates, this powwow will begin at 10:30 with a pipe ceremony. During the Grand Entry at 1pm and 7pm, UM graduates will receive gifts from the Master of Ceremonies, form a circle together, and sing the Honour song. According to their site, the Honour song gives "tribute to [graduates] accomplishments and recognizes [graduates] achievements whereby the community will be asked to come down and extend their congratulations with a hand shake." 2012 Lumbee Tribe Spring Powwow "Dance of the Spring Moon", North Carolina

When & Where: May 4th - 6th at the Southeastern Agricultural Center Farmers Market in Lumberton, North Carolina

This weekend event will be full of competitive dancing. Categories will include men's chicken, women's southern traditional, and teen dances. Dancers will be competing for prizes ranging from $25 - $1000. As a special treat, spectators will enjoy the Eastern War Dance Special and Golden Age Men and Women. According to their site, the Golden Age dances are being "hosted by the Powwow Committee to showcase our elders who still carry the torch and who sometimes can still upstage the younger dancers and wow the crowds.. 28th Annual California Indian Market & Peace Pow Wow, California

When & Where: May 5th - 6th at the San Juan Bautista School Soccer Lot in San Juan Bautista, California

Celebrating it 28th year, the California Indian Market & Peace Pow Wow will be filled with Native American arts, crafts, dancer, drummers, and more! Authentic Native American crafts will include basketry, dance regalia, dreamcatchers, and more. Special appearance by the Xipe Totec Aztec Dancers who will preform the Fire Dance and White Eagle Dance celebrating Cinco De Mayo both days at 3 and 5 p.m. For more information about this event, click here.
