Tribal College in Wisconsin Closed After Fire
Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe Community College in northwest Wisconsin is closed until further notice after a fire on Friday, June 1.
According to a press release on the American Indian College Fund (AICF) website, classes were not in session at the time and there were no injuries reported.
The release stated that the fire, which was located in a ceiling, did cause heavy damage to the far east wing of the college.
The fire is under investigation.
“We lost about 15 offices and a couple of classrooms, so we’re going to be scrambling for space when fall hits,” interim president Raymond Burns said in the release.
