NCAIED Accepting Scholarship Applications and 40 Under 40 Nominations
Starting now until August 15, 2012, the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED) is accepting applications for the NCAIED American Indian Fellowship in Business Scholarship and nominations for its 2012 Native American "40 Under 40" Awards.
The scholarship awards are presented annually to several American Indian undergraduate or graduate students majoring in business who have demonstrated dedication to academics and giving back to the American Indian community. Students will accept their awards at RES Oklahoma, a new two-day Reservation Economic Summit event taking place November 14-15, 2012, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The NCAIED Native American “40 Under 40 Awards” recognizes 40 emerging American Indian leaders less than 40 years of age who have demonstrated leadership, initiative, and dedication to achieve significant contributions in their businesses, communities, and Indian Country. The “40 Under 40” Awards will be presented at the 37th Annual Indian Progress in Business Awards 2012 (INPRO), which will be a part of RES Oklahoma this year.
According to the NCAIED, the INPRO Awards Banquet is the longest standing and most prestigious Native American recognition event in the nation. Highlights of INPRO also include the presentation of other business awards such as the Jay Silverheels Achievement Award, the First American Corporate Leadership Award, and the First American Entrepreneurship Award. RES Oklahoma will feature respected tribal leaders, state, and local elected officials and top CEO’s, networking, teaming opportunities, business development sessions, American Indian procurement fair and much more. RES Oklahoma marks the expansion of the NCAIED’s highly successful Reservation Economic Summit (RES) into additional regionally focused events throughout the nation.
In 2012, the NCAIED's national event, "RES Las Vegas" enjoyed several historical record-breaking milestones, including the largest attendance in the history of RES. RES 2013 will take place March 11-14 in Las Vegas. Additional regional RES events will soon be announced.
