The Van Zandt County Genealogist Society will present an all-day seminar on September 22 featuring Bille Stone Fogarty, a professional genealogist, teacher and national speaker, from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the St. Therese Catholic Church Fellowship Hall, on FM 859 in Canton, Texas.

Fogarty will discuss "Land Runs, Lotteries and Homesteading in Oklahoma," as well as the War of 1812 and how to discuss your genealogical research without putting your relatives to sleep.

The fee for the event is $35 and includes a continental breakfast and a catered lunch. Registrations are being taken at the library of Genealogy and Local History in the courthouse annex in Canton, Texas or by sending a check or money order to the VZCGS, P.O. Box 1388, Canton, TX 75103.
