White House Forum To Address Unique Challenges Faced by Business Leaders in Indian Country
A White House forum on September 27 will focus on the Obama Administration’s programs and initiatives for American Indian and Alaska Native business leaders.
Acting Secretary of Commerce Rebecca M. Blank and senior Obama Administration officials will join tribal leaders to discuss the tools and resources available through the Department of Commerce, Small Business Administration, Department of State, Department of Energy, Department of the Interior, and other agencies.
The forum will also include collaboration sessions on a range of topics to encourage dialogue among American Indian and Alaska Native business leaders to spur economic development and enhance economic activity and investment. The forum will promote the value of working together to both expand capability, create jobs in Native American communities, and expand businesses globally to establish and sustain a solid economic future for tribal communities.
The event is free of charge, though pre-event registration is required. Space is limited, so registration is on a first come, first served basis. The event is closed to the press. To reserve a space, security forms must be submitted today, September 20, no later than 5 p.m., to IndianCountry@who.eop.gov.
The September 27 forum will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the White House, Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
