JOB: Eastern Washington University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Structural Geology
The Department of Geology in the College of Science, Health & Engineering at Eastern Washington University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Structural Geology located on our Cheney Campus to begin September 2013.
The Department of Geology offers both B.S. and B.A. degrees in Geology as well as a B.A.E. in Earth and Space Science/Secondary. A B.S. in Environmental Science with Geology emphasis is also offered. The department currently consists of 5 tenured or tenure-track faculty, an instructional technician, one full-time and one part-time lecturer and an office manager.
Responsibilities will include teaching and curriculum development at the undergraduate level (both in the classroom and in the field), and active participation in scholarly and service activities.

o Ph.D. in Geology must be conferred no later than the date of appointment (09/15/2013);
o Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching Introductory Geology, Structural Geology, and other courses depending on Department needs, and applicant's area of specialization; to meet this qualification, candidates must offer both of the following:
> College level teaching experience in Geology
> Demonstrated expertise in Structural Geology

o Ability to co-teach at EWU's Field Camp, which is taught annually in southwestern Montana
o Additionally, candidates must offer ability, experience and/or interest in promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.
o Preference may be given to candidates who offer more experience in any of the following:
o Prior teaching experience in Geology at the college level beyond that gained as a graduate assistant
o Classroom and field experience in Structural Geology
o Experience and interest in mentoring undergraduate students
o Knowledge of the regional geology of the Inland Northwest
