Prayer Vigil for Blessed Kateri in Kahnawake

Blessed Kateri's tomb is found at St. Francis Xavier Mission in the Mohawk Nation at Kahnawake, near Montreal, Quebec.  Kateri moved to present day Kahnawake in 1677 to join other American Indian Catholics who had already moved north to join the St. Francis Xavier Mission from the Mohawk Valley.

The Shrine of Kateri Tekakwitha in Kahnawake, Quebec, near Montreal, in the Diocese of Saint-Jean-Longueuil, is organizing a Prayer Vigil on Saturday, 20 October, 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. On Sunday, 21 October at 9:00 am, there will be a re-broadcast of the Canonization Mass in Rome; with Mass at 10:30 am, followed by Adoration  and, at 5:00 pm, Benediction. The ceremonies at the Shrine of Kateri Tekakwitha will be principally in English, with parts in French as well as in Mohawk. The Shrine is at the St. Francis-Xavier Church (450-632-6030).
