Go Warriors! The Kiowa Five Power Anadarko High Into the Oklahoma State Football Championship
Against all odds, as ICTMN reader and Anadarko High fan Cecelia Ce-Ce Marie Tsatoke, reports, the Anadarko Warriors are headed to Stillwater to play for the Oklahoma State Class 4A Football Championship. On Saturday, December 1, the Warriors will face powerhouse Clinton High in Boone Pickens Stadium at 12.30pm.
Powering the Warriors is a dominating offensive line known as the Kiowa Five. Unlike the other famous Kiowa Five, known for their brilliant art, this fearsome fivesome is known for pancaking defensive lineman and opening holes for star running back R.J. SInk. The Kiowa Five are: Russell Mithlo, Dakota Botone, Jeremy Sankadota, TT Ware and James Paddlety. Following their lead, Sink has rushed for 1,381 yards and 27 touchdowns this season. And the Warriors score nearly 40 points per game.
As Ce-Ce Marie tells ICTMN, “A lot of the members of the team are Kiowa and from other tribes. Four of the coaches are Native American and graduated from Anadarko." She also notes that the Kiowa Five carry the Kiowa Nation tribal flag unto the field before games, along with the U.S. and Warriors flag.
ICTMN will be covering the Warriors march to the title all week, including post-game coverage on Saturday. We also extend a big THANKS to Ce-Ce Marie for providing our first READER SIDELINE REPORT.
