Native-Owned ANAE To Represent SAWT Energy's Wind Turbine Technology
The Seattle-based Alekson Native American Enterprises LLC (ANAE), a Native-owned company focused on promoting renewable energy technologies, has signed a wind turbine representation agreement with SAWT Energy, considered to be one of the world’s leading research and development designers and manufacturers of vertical-axis wind turbines. SAWT Energy’s wind turbine technology is covered by 39 issued and pending patents, and they have been installed in more than 3,000 locations worldwide, according to an ANAE press release.
ANAE, which was officially incorporated in January 2012, is owned by Jennifer L. Alekson, a member of the Citizen Band of the Potawatomi Nation, and Chester P. Soliz, who sits on the economic development committee of his tribe, the Mashpee Wampanoag from Cape Cod, and their partners.
Both ANAE and SAWT Energy, which entered the market in 2005, have distinctive identities in the world market. To avoid market confusion, ANAE’s AIRE-FOIL trademark is being added to the SAWT Energy logo. Turbines will be marketed as SAWT Energy AIRE-FOIL Vertical Axis Wind Turbines.
SAWT Energy distributors are located across the globe in Australia, India, China, Italy, Austria and Switzerland.
The revolutionary design of SAWT Energy AIRE-FOIL wind turbines do not harm birds or bats; run quietly and are highly efficient; have a very low profile that easily blends into surrounding landscapes; have a cut-in speed of 2 m/s (4.47 mph); range in generation capacity from 10W to 10KW; and in September 2013, a 50KW turbine will be available for distribution. Larger generation capacity wind turbines are in development and will be available in the coming years.
“We are very pleased to have been approved by SAWT Energy to represent their vertical-axis wind turbine technology,” said Jim Alekson, CEO of ANAE and Jennifer’s husband. “We believe combining the SAWT Energy and AIRE-FOIL identities into one trade mark creates a dynamic synergy which will come to dominate the wind turbine industry. This is another example of ANAE demonstrating Native American participation in the world’s green energy revolution.”
“We are very pleased to have ANAE represent SAWT Energy,” said David Du, President and CEO of SAWT Energy. “The combining of the respective talents of SAWT Energy and ANAE creates a synergy where the whole is much greater than the sum of its parts.”
