Today Is International Women's Day: Find an Event Near You, Watch Videos Here
Today, March 8, 2013, is the 102nd International Women's Day. It seems appropriate that the Violence Against Women Act reauthorization, with tribal provisions, was signed into law by President Obama yeterday--just another reason for women to celebrate their day today. Celebrated across the globe, International Women's Day is, according to the day's official site, now an official holiday in dozens of nations, including Afghanistan and China, recognized annually on March 8, when thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. A global web of rich and diverse local activity connects women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, business conferences, government activities and networking events through to local women's craft markets, theatric performances, fashion parades and more.
