Inaugural Native American Flute Gathering in the Great Smoky Mountains
The Great Smoky Mountains will be alive with the sounds of Native American flute this weekend.
The inaugural Renaissance of the North American Flute Foundation Gathering will be held June 6-8 at the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center in Townsend, Tennessee. Among those performing are R. Carlos Nakai, John Sarantos, Randy McGinnis and many more masters of the wooden Native flute. The goal of the event is to make the flute accessible and celebrate the instrument's role in Native American life, both past and present.
