The list of sponsors and speakers continues to grow as RES (Reservation Economic Summit) California, June 17-19, approaches. The regional event, part of the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development’s highly successful annual RES event in Las Vegas, will be hosted at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California.

The theme, “Sustaining Economic Momentum,” is fitting, as tribes and sponsors continue to show their support for economic development in Indian country.

The most recent additions to the sponsor lineup are NOVA Corporation, a professional IT services company owned by the Navajo Tribe; Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise (NNGE); and Indian Energy, LLC, a Native-owned "utility scale" full-service renewable energy development firm.

New presenters to the RES California agenda include:

--Robin Billups, director of business development at Women's Business Enterprise Council, who will lead a discussion on corporate contracting;

--Frank Grant, senior legal counsel of Perkin Coie, LLC, and a member of the Yurok Tribe of California, who will present on 8(a) certification;

--Allen Cadreau, CEO of Indian Energy, LLC, and a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, who will be part of a panel discussion on tribal utility; and

--Stanton Snyder, partner at Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith, LLC, who will be part of the panel discussion on tribal utility.

June 17 also marks the beginning of the National Small Business Week, a signature event of the U.S. Small Business Administration. To celebrate this event, The National Center is introducing the RES California Teaming Alliance and Business Development Expo, a dynamic multi-day presentation focused on helping small businesses succeed through certification, contracting, teaming and partnerships, business plan development, strategic growth planning, importing and exporting, procurement assistance, and international business development.

SBA Speakers will include:
