Celebrate Dad at the Chickasaw Cultural Center


To celebrate Father’s Day this weekend, the Chickasaw Cultural Center is offering free admission to fathers June 15-16 to Chikasha Poya Exhibit Center as well as complimentary cookies and tea in the Aaimpa Café.

On Saturday, a special stomp dance honoring fathers will be demonstrated and a Father’s Day card workshop will be offered.

The Father’s Day celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 15 and noon to 5 p.m. on June 16. The traditional living village will also be open during the celebration offering a look at Chickasaw life in the 1750s with interactive activities like basket making, hide tanning, archery, children’s games, craft and pottery demonstrations and stickball games.

The Chickasaw Cultural Center is located at 867 Cooper Memorial Drive in Sulphur, Oklahoma. For more information on these events call 580-622-7130.
