Why Shouldn't I Work for the NSA? Foretold by Good Will Hunting
The movie came out in 1997 written by and starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, but a short clip from Good Will Hunting is recently making the rounds.
Damon who played Will Hunting, a mathematics genius who was a janitor at MIT when his talents were discovered, was a lost youth from South Boston. The clip may not be one of the larger pieces of the movie that fans and critics remember but it could almost be seen as a sense of foreshadowing.
In the clip, Hunting has a job interview with the National Security Administration (NSA), where he’s asked “why shouldn’t he take the job?” At which point, Hunting in his genius abilities runs through a listed scenario on exactly why he shouldn’t take the job as a code breaker.
Check out the video below, as it seems fitting with NSA in the news recently for its surveillance programs. Gen. Keith Alexander, director of the NSA on June 18, said that 50 potential terrorist attacks have been stopped with two controversial programs that are tracking more than a billion phone calls and swaths of Internet data each day according to abcnews.go.com.
