Let's Move! Solicits Young Chefs to Submit Lunch Recipes

Let's Move! is once again hosting its Healthy Lunchtime Challenge for talented junior chefs across the country. First Lady Michelle Obama has teamed up with the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Epicurious for a nationwide recipe competition that aims to encourage cooking and healthy eating among youth.

Fresh From the Farm to School Lunches: Navajo Pilot Program Proves Successful

Let's Move! invites parents or guardians and their children, ages 8-12, to submit an original lunch recipe that is "healthy, affordable and tasty" for the chance to be invited to attend a Kids' "State Dinner"at the White House, where a selection of the winning recipes will be served.

Let's Move! recommends using MyPlate as a resource to think about building a healthy well-rounded meal; visit www.ChooseMyPlate.gov (low-fat dairy, whole grains, protein, fruits, and veggies).

Recipes are due April 5 at www.recipechallenge.epicurious.com.
