Call for Proposals: NB3F 'Native Strong: Healthy Kids, Healthy Futures' to Award Native Communities Up to $40K

The Notah Begay III Foundation’s (NB3F) “Native Strong: Healthy Kids, Healthy Futures” national initiative recently announced it is accepting proposals for its second round of Promising Program Grants. The purpose of Native Strong and the Promising Program Grant is to address childhood obesity and type 2 diabetes in Native communities. These grants allow NB3F to partner with Native communities to strengthen existing youth focused physical activity and/or healthy nutrition programs and build capacity for program evaluation.

The application deadline is July 14, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. MDT. All applications must be submitted through NB3F’s online system. NB3F plans to award grants up to $40,000 each to support projects that strategically target childhood obesity and type 2 diabetes prevention through physical activity and/or healthy nutrition programs.  Additional information including eligibility criteria, the full Request for Proposal (RFP) and the link to the online application can be found on NB3F’s Promising Program Grant page.

Applications will be accepted from throughout the United States. However, preference will be given to grantees from three specific regions – the Southwest (New Mexico, Arizona), the Upper Midwest (Minnesota, Wisconsin) and the Southern Plains (Oklahoma, Texas).
