Chickasaw Nation Announces General Election Results

Chickasaw Nation Election Secretary Rita Loder recently announced results of the Chickasaw Nation general election.

Pickens District Seat 2 incumbent legislator Connie Barker of Marietta received 1,360 votes to defeat Michael T. Watson and Wanda Blackwood Tippit Scott, both of Ardmore, who received 540, and 231 votes respectively..

Pontotoc District Seat 3 incumbent Katie Case of Ada received 1,805 votes to narrowly defeat challenger Dr. Karen Goodnight of Goldsby, who received 1,703 votes.

Tishomingo District Seat 3 incumbent Steven Woods of Davis received 1,025 votes to defeat challenger Wes Harden of Sulphur, who received 524 votes.

Incumbent legislator Dean McManus of Ada was unchallenged and will retain Pontotoc District Seat 4.

Incumbent Supreme Court Justice Cheri L. Bellefeuille-Gordon of Sulphur will retain Seat 3 on the Supreme Court as no other candidates filed for the seat.

Elected officials will take the oath of office Wednesday, October 1.

Seat 3 – Katie Case, Ada (Incumbent) – 1,805 – 51 percent

Seat 3 – Dr. Karen Goodnight, Goldsby – 1,703 – 49 percent

Pickens District

Seat 2 – Connie Barker, Marietta (Incumbent) – 1,360 – 64 percent

Seat 2 – Michael T. Watson, Lone Grove – 540 – 25 percent

Seat 2 – Wanda Blackwood Tippit Scott – 231 – 11 percent

Pontotoc District

Seat 4 – Dean McManus, Ada (Incumbent) – no challenger

Tishomingo District

Seat 3 – Steven Woods, Davis (Incumbent) – 1,025 – 66 percent

Seat 3 – Wes Harden, Sulphur – 524 – 34 percent

Supreme Court:

Seat 3 – Cheri L. Bellefeuille-Gordon, Sulphur (Incumbent) – no challenger
