Tohono O’Odham Chair Ned Norris Jr. on Job-Killing Legislation in Senate
Tohono O’odham Nation Chairman Ned Norris, Jr. issued the following statement on the introduction of job-killing legislation in the U.S. Senate to stop the West Valley Resort project:
“The federal courts and agencies have consistently found that the Nation has followed the law at every step of the process. Every argument raised by opponents of the project has been heard and dismissed by the courts.
“It is for those reasons that the West Valley Resort has earned the overwhelming support from the West Valley public and elected leaders who understand the economic windfall this project will bring to their communities.
With the project site now in trust, we are eager to move forward with creating thousands of jobs in the West Valley at the earliest opportunity.
“Despite the opposition’s latest efforts, we are confident that Congress, like so many others, will recognize the incredible benefits the West Valley Resort will provide to the region and all of Arizona.”
