Pow Wow Weekend Planner August 1-3
This weekend, enjoy a pow wow in the U.S. or Canada.
The Lac La Biche pow wow in Alberta, Canada, hosts a pow wow that is run by volunteers. For the last 52 years, their pow wow has attracted thousands of guests, and this year, 400-500 volunteers are slated to help make the multi-cultural pow wow a success.
And in “ Chi-town” (well at least close by), don’t miss two days of drums and dancing on the banks of the Rock River in the Prophetstown State Park, which is just two hours outside of Chicago. The 9th Annual Prophetstown Pow Wow is an intertribal event that will also feature authentic foods, and arts and crafts.
Also, note that if you planned to attend the 44th Annual Sierra Mono Museum Indian Fair Days & Pow Wow in California, it has been postponed until August 23. For details visit SierraMonomuseum.org.
Don’t forget to check out more upcoming pow wows on our pow wow listing.
