Yankee center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury is keeping his team solidly on track.

On Sunday, Ellsbury, Navajo, hit his 10th home run of the season, which prevented the team from falling to 20 consecutive scoreless innings, and avoiding their first back-to-back shutouts since 1999.

Ellsbury is batting .294 with 10 home runs, 57 RBI’s and and 30 stolen bases on the season.

He told the New York Post that he was confident the Yanks would fare better against the Orioles. Their three-game series starts tonight in Baltimore.

“With this team, with this lineup, guys want it. Guys want to win. Hopefully we can just go out there and string some good at-bats together and take some pressure off the pitchers,” Ellsbury said.

Ellsbury has had a decent individual 2014 season, helping his team by making big plays. Against the Detroit Tigers, NJ.com reported that Ellsbury made a “catch of the year” when he jumped up to catch a high fly ball that went deep in to right field. The Yankees won 2-1.
