$400 Million Project will Create Thousands of Construction Jobs, Positive Economic Impacts

The Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise (TOGE) announced today that it has selected the partnership of Hunt Construction Group and PENTA Building Group as the construction team for Tohono O’odham Nation’s new West Valley Resort and Casino.  Rounding out this stellar construction team, Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) and Summit Project Management will jointly serve as the owner’s representative.

The $400 million project will create thousands of construction jobs and more than 3,000 permanent jobs when completed, offering a tremendous economic boost to the region. Site preparation and other preliminary activities have already been completed and will assist in expediting construction. This will be one of the largest construction projects planned for the West Valley and these firms were chosen for their particular expertise in large-scale resort projects.

Upon completion the state-of-the-art facility will include a casino with a 75,000 square foot gaming floor, a 400 room resort hotel, restaurants, spas and many other amenities.  It will be a high-end, four-star facility and will be greater than one million square feet at full build-out.

Andy Asselin, CEO of TOGE, said, “We are proud to have assembled one of the finest construction teams in Arizona, one that can handle a project of this massive scale. The core tools are now in place to create jobs and economic opportunity the West Valley has been waiting for. That's why we are committed to hiring local firms and subcontractors as we move forward into construction and beyond.”
