Pow Wow Weekend Planner August 22-24
It’s back to school time, but that doesn’t mean you can’t pack up the kids and head to a pow wow this weekend. There are still plenty of opportunities to be wowed before pow wow season ends.
The Toronto Sun reported that visitors to the annual Chippewas of Rama First Nation Competition Pow Wow Celebration will experience the “the majesty of the head dancers and the Grand Entry” as well as take part in “the way aboriginal people celebrate life and tell their stories through music and movement.”
And the Ute Mountain Casino pow wow is in the heart of pow wow country, Towoac, Colorado. The Ute pow wow is hosting a contest pow wow with at least $50,000 in prize money up for grabs.
Here’s your pow wow list for this weekend. For a full list of pow wows, click here.
