Hilary Duff and Boyfriend Dress as Pilgrim and Native American ‘Chief’
Actress Hilary Duff and her boyfriend Jason Walsh dressed as a pilgrim and a Native American chief at a Casamigos Halloween Party in Beverly Hills on Friday, October 28 in their first public appearance as a couple. While Duff dressed as a pilgrim with short-shorts, Walsh wore a full, faux ‘Native Headdress’ costume piece, a buckskin outfit and facepaint.
The party, which was attended by such partygoers as Ryan Seacrest, Leonardo DiCaprio and Paris Hilton, was hosted at a private home by Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford. Shortly after photos of their unwise costume choices hit social media, Duff and her boyfriend were blasted with negative sentiments. Many comments spoke to the insensitivity of the costumes, particularly in light of the current situation in North Dakota and the violent treatment of Native American water protectors by law enforcement.

What a dumb costume by Hilary Duff's bf. Someone else's culture is not a "costume." pic.twitter.com/Lg4FZv8Yrv

So far Duff has remained silent on social media about her the backlash, though a Youtube video of the couple leaving the party has been removed.
