The Daily Show, Jon Stewart's Comedy Central source for news, has hit it out of the park with an investigation into the J.R. Simplot Company and its assertions that two-headed trouts do not indicate an overabundance of the pollutant selenium in the waters.
Simplot's mining operations have been polluting southern Idaho for decades, but the company grabbed international attention when a two-headed trout appeared near its Smoky Canyon phosphate mine earlier this year. In May, Daily Show correspondent Aasif Mandvi visited the affected area to look for answers. See the hilarious result.
