A Journalist from Al Jazeera English Visits The 2011 Crow Fair
Reporter Rob Reynolds of AJE (Al Jazeera English) filed this report from the 2011 Crow Fair.
For 93 years and counting, the Crow Fair has been one of the most colorful celebrations of American Indian heritage and history in America.
The teepee village at the Crow Fair is always of interest to reporters, especially on their first visit. More than 10,000 Crow people come together to live in the encampment. Crow families move their households, including horses, to camp. The culture is alive here—85 percent of the tribal people speak Crow as their first language.
