Andarko High School Football Superstar Sheldon Wilson Makes Oil Bowl All-Star Game
NDNsports.com reports that Andarko high school senior Sheldon Wilson, Comanche, has been selected for the Oil Bowl All-Star football game that will be played on June 9 at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls, Texas.
NDNsports.com reports that Wilson set a bevy of Oklahoma state records with 7,774 career rushing yards and single-season touchdown record of 57. He added a few more distinctions—he was named the Oklahoma Offensive Player of the Year, he was named to the Oklahoma All-State Team, and named the MaxPreps Small School Player of the Year (MaxPreps ranks high school sports, keeps detailed stats, schedules, etc). He also played on the Andarko Warrior basketball team, helping them finish second at the state championships, and was the 2012 State Champion in the long-jump for his track team.
The Oil Bowl pits the best players from two of the toughest high school football states in the country, Texas and Oklahoma, against in each other in a game that is going on its 74th year (the first Oil Bowl game was played in 1938, between East and West Texas high school football all-stars.)
