The ironies—extremely painful though they are—of Columbus' saga have not been lost on cartoonists. Today, with discussions of terrorism and immigration on the front page of every newspaper, cartoonists find even more reasons to draw on the story of Columbus' story. As Clarence Darrow said, "History repeats itself—first as tragedy, second as farce."
