Do Indians Still Hunt and Gather?
Do Indians Still Hunt and Gather?

Yes, some tribes still utilize their ancestral forms of hunting game, but today most use modern methods, such as guns and powerful bows. Some tribes still kill seals, whales and fish, depending on their lifestyles and treaty rights. The killing of animals is never (or very rarely) done for sport, but rather to feed their families. The animal was always thanked, either by ceremony or in the field, for having given their spirit for the sustenance of their people.
