Ethereal But Ozone-eating

These ethereal polar clouds, stunning to look at, form when stratospheric temperatures drop below –108 Fahrenheit. Composed of frozen nitric acid and sulfuric acid, they portend a thinning of the ozone layer. This spring a large hole is developing in the ozone above the Arctic, scientists say.
