Kria Resources Ltd. has received approval from the New Brunswick Department of the Environment to proceed on the Halfmile Mine and will soon start construction, the company said in a recent press release.

The mining company will now apply for a number of other permits that were waiting on the environmental department approval and then will proceed with site construction activities, the Christmas Eve statement said.

“The positive Certificate of Determination from the Department of Environment is an important milestone in the development of the Halfmile Mine,” said president and chief executive officer Mike Hoffman. “The Government of New Brunswick and our stakeholders including the Mi’gmag First Nations have been very cooperative in reviewing our submissions, and their feedback on the design will minimize any potential impacts of the Halfmile Mine on the environment.”

Kria Resources describes itself as a base metal exploration and development company focused on high-quality, advanced-stage base metal assets. Its primary asset is the Halfmile Lake and Stratmat properties near Bathurst, New Brunswick.
