Hard Rock International Pursuing Western Massachusetts Casino
Hard Rock International has partnered with Paper City Development to build a casino in Holyoke, Massachusetts. But now the gaming franchise, owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, and Paper City are considering alternative sites for a gaming resort in western Massachusetts, reported GazetteNet.com.
The parties had previously proposed to develop a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on the 100-acre Wyckoff Country Club off Interstate 91 in Holyoke, according to CityBiz Real Estate.
The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority behind the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut is also seeking to build a gaming resort in western Massachusetts. The Authority's proposed destination casino in Palmer would feature a 600-room hotel and spa, and a casino with slots, table games and poker.
