Important Arizona Treaty on Display at Arizona State Museum

TUCSON - Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo--the treaty that was signed in 1848, ending the Mexican-American War and ceding California, Nevada, Utah, and most of Arizona to the United States--will be on display at Arizona State Museum from February 2 through 28, KVOA.com reported.
To this day, many Hispanic and Native American communities in Arizona and New Mexico cite this treaty to protect their land and water rights, said Michael Brescia, associate curator at Arizona State Museum.
