Indiana State Library Offers Free Workshops
On Wednesday, December 7 the Indiana State Library will present "The Orphan Trains in America, 1850-1930," from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Genealogy collection librarian Leesa Shanahan will talk about how to trace ancestry after thousands of children were transported from New York City to live with families in the Midwest.
On December 13 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. the library will host a Family History Orientation Tour of the library. Registration is required; call 317-232-3689.
On December 15 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. the library will host the sixth in a genealogy series about materials for states other than Indiana including Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and Kentucky.
