The Israelis have been trying extremely hard for their entire existence---since 1948, to justify their attrocities against the Palestinians and their illegal possession of those people's lands with the establishment of modern Israel. The "Jews" do NOT HAVE A DISTINCTIVE DNA--as the Native Americans do; and cannot prove their antiquity much farther back in history than the late Helenistic era or early Roman era. No more than 2500 years---while Native America can show an antiquity that is more than six times that. They did not develope any "cultigens" such as Corn, the Native Americans collectively developed six cultigens over the 15K years they have been on the continent. I personally would be exceptionally cautiuous about accepting any "research information" from Israeli scientists for obvious reasons. The fact that the oldest continuously occupied city in the USA is Santa Fe, New Mexico which was "settled" in 1610 by Ashkenazi Jews who were "working for the Spanish Crown' in an area that had been a trading zone for no less than 4000 years before the "accidental discovery of the America's by the Anglo Europeans" would be the only source the Native Americans in question here could have acquired that gene. Dear ICT, Where on earth did you read that Christopher Columbus is purported to be the 'Jewish ancestor' of Mexican Indians? None of the reports say that at all. First of all, there is little to no evidence to support the idea that he was at all Jewish. He was Italian, not Spanish, and not a converso. Secondly, there were many Jews expelled from Spain circa 1492 and many came to the 'new world'. It's known that Jews have mixed with Native Americans all over Turtle Island for centuries, so this is not new news, any more than the admixture of African and European genes to our Native populations.

If one actually reads all the 'evidence' creating such theories as Columbus' origins and husbandofmoonlight's comments, it becomes quite obvious how illogical and nonobjective it is. But a reader must be willing to read a little history, not just accept whatever propaganda is presented. Please, on a news forum, let's discuss with honesty, not silliness. True, Jews do not have distinctive DNA. They are a group of people found all over the world (via dispersion) and are based on a religious foundation. However, those people have had an ancestral presence in the land of Israel since before the time of Abraham. Read Muslim or Hebraic accounts. They have also endured more persecution & holocausts than any other group on the planet, since their inception as a cultural group. This has made them, generally but not always, a highly sensitive people to the suffering of others. Israel was the first country to offer aid after the 2005 tsunami (their help was rejected) and the catastrophic devastation in Haiti, and many other examples. The country of Israel offers open arms to refugees from Russia, Darfur, Ethiopia, Yemen, anywhere you can imagine. Before bombing a Palestinian town, they give several days' notice, provide safe passage for civilians, and risk their soldiers' lives to save innocents. I don't think the Israeli government is without any fault, but I do think Jewish people deserve the same right to existence as any other animal on the planet, yet they have to fight for it every day of their lives. I don't see how this can be fair.

The fact that you are attempting to use "Muslim & Hebraic accounts" as a "historical" marker/reference to the "Jews" is revelatory of your lack of factual information. The 'first accounts of the Jews'-----are only contained in the Torah/Old Testament; no other ancient societies, such as the Greeks mention them. Indeed, the "authors" of the "Jews" history is the Jew's account and no others. AS for "muslim" accounts, the "muslims" were invented by the "Prohpet Mohammed" in answer to the 'early midevil christian and Jewish attrocities'----and are placed historically AFTER the Christians---who invented themselves--AFTER the Jews "invented themselves". To be a "jew" is nothing more than to be a "member of a religion"---and nothing else. The fact that the Christians and even the Muslims---"tolerate them" is revealed in that the "jews" are the foundations of their own "ficiton". Then one must take into consideration the hundreds of thousands of lives of "peoples" that the Christians and the Muslims have "sacrificed" in the name of their "concept of a God"----and all three----of the "big three"--"Jews,Christians, Muslims"---are a dangerous and destructive people; who do not hold themselves accountable for their criminal behavior; in each case because they claim "authority" from the "God of Abraham"----whom the "jews"----invented about 2500 years ago. And the "open arms" to all those "refugees"----are only "open for Diaspora Jews"----and no one else.
