John Evans Glacier is in Nunavut, heart of Inuit territory. This photo was taken by Robert Bingham, a lecturer at the University of Aberdeen School of Geosciences, as he researched glacial changes during melt season in 2000, what mechanisms are responsible for these changes, and whether this evolution in drainage system would effect glacial dynamics. This depicts the glacier from the southeast, with a nunatak, or outcrop of bedrock, that the glacier flows around. He noted that it is "also a fine spot from which to admire the gorgeous scenery."
