Louisiana-Based Tribe Adds Hotel Expansion to Coushatta Casino Resort
A new $60 million hotel expansion on the Coushatta Casino Resort will help the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana accommodate its influx of guests, who "drive three hours or more to visit," according to Coushatta Casino Resort’s General Manager Conrad Granito. Currently, "demand for hotel rooms exceeds our supply," he said in a press release.
The hotel, custom-designed by DreamCatcherTM Hotels of Memphis, Tenn., a division of Hnedak Bobo Group, will add an extra dose of luxury to the resort. The new seven-story tower, connected to the casino, will include 401 new hotel rooms with 18 suites--an addition that will increase capacity at Coushatta Casino Resort to over 950 rooms. Other amenities inside the new hotel will include a lobby bar, coffeehouse café and retail shop.
Granito expects the new hotel tower, slated to open in 2012, to bolster the area's economy, in addition to creating employment opportunities at the resort. Coushatta Casino Resort is located in Kinder, La. and features more than 2,800 slots and more than 70 table games.
