Meeting the Challenge for American Indian Educational Reform
The Montana Indian Education Association will investigate education reform at its 30th annual conference themed “Meeting the Challenge for American Indian Educational Reform” April 7-10 at the Heritage Inn, Great Falls, Montana.
“The challenge to meet the educational and cultural needs of American Indian students attending schools in Montana during this time of tight budgets, common core standards, school reform and the upcoming re-authorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (NCLB) is both overwhelming and exciting,” the organization stated in a press release. “MIEA is dedicated to investigating these issues as we share frustrations and innovative approaches to ensure that Indian students at all levels of the educational system receive a high quality education that prepares them for the future they envision.”
