Moving Pictures: Mystical Journey Equals World Record
Hawaiian Archie Kalepa has surfed some of the biggest waves in the world (he arrive on the waves 1:41mins into this clip), but the splash he made in 2009 might have been his most memorable. In a stirring gesture to connect his Native Hawaiian roots to that of American Indians, and to raise awareness to water issues affecting natives, the surfing legend became the first person in the world to standup paddle 187 miles through the Grand Canyon.
